BATTLEGROUND

Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

So, my Sig Sauer P226 and Baretta M-9 mags have all spit out the stock o ring that keeps them from spewing gas from the fill port.  After some web surfing, I have only come across replacements on Evike for $5.00 for 6 o rings plus $5.00 for super saver shipping.  Now, I'm not looking to spend $5.00 on o-rings after spending $25.00ish plus shipping on each magazine so I started doing what a former AF cop does best: adapt, improvise and overcome.  After some trial and error, I have discovered that if you cut about a 1/16" segment of a standard (50ish cent) 5/8" by 1/16" faucet o rig, use a very small flat head screw driver to punch an "X" in the center of the segment and two small flat head screw drivers to push the piece around the fill port; you have yourself a nice, tight, seal.  It took some time and patience but when, but was all said and done it was worth it.

I hope this will help somebody avoid having to spend, what I believe to be an exorbitant amount of money on little rubber rings.

Thanks for reading and take care.

Great information! Thanks Preacha.

I have a Glock that I have not run for a couple of years with the same problem. Due to the discontinuation of Glock licensing it has become difficult to find the o-rings. I have done without rather than pursue in a non-obliging market. As is your profession, . . . there is now hope!

Always a pleasure.
