BATTLEGROUND

Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

I know someone who is trying to get into the game, but doesn't know what model or brand gun he should get. He wants something cheap, reliable and under 200 dollars. I know the price limit is ridiculously low, but he doesn't have very much cash. He likes to play field a wants it have a decent range. Any suggestions?

Craig's list is a good possibility.

Sometimes you find a gun where someone who has decided that airsoft is just not their game.

Echo seems to produce some great 'starter' guns.

I'd  check out evike.com

I would highly recommend any of Airsoft GI's G4 series. They have a couple under $200 and they shoot awesome, are basically indestructible, and unique. The Echo1 M14 may be good for him as well. I know the Cyma Thompson is actually a really nice gun with good range and accuracy. Echo1 AUG is quite good as well. Lots more too. But his best bet and deal would probably be the G4

Hey Spartan,

Here is previous post that might be of use: "What is the best AEG for $200 or less?"

Many good suggestions from several seasoned operators. Hope this helps.

My suggestion is a Classic Army Sportline M15A4 Carbine. (Price around $150)

Thanks guys, he likes Spidedds idea of the echo1 AUG, and thats probably what hell end up with. I actually tried to get him to get that CA m15a4, but for some reason he doesn't like your standard m4 look. He likes the unique foreign guns. If he got the M15 he could just dump the rest of his money upgrades but no.....The mexican man wants it his way.....
Hey as an idea If he wants an Echo1 AUG my friend is selling her Echo1 AUG with quite a few extras and such for $100. Idk if he'd be interested in buying used though

yeah i think he would, and no he doesn't care if its used as long as it works. Is it in good condition? Hey i think I played with you at the old airport road once. Is your name happen to be Collins? I'm Avery Clark's cousin, and I remember being stuck in a bunker with a girl named Melissa who had an AUG.
Yeah it's in pretty good condition. It has normal wear on the metal parts (but if he adds $20 I could get a brand new railed front end instead). It's being mailed back right now from a trade gone bad so I'll have to reinspect it to make sure everything is still in working order and such. It will have an OD and black body that he can use plus plenty of mags. And yes my name is Colin. Oh yeah? Yeah this is melissa's aug. When did you come up to play?

$100 isn't that bad of an investment to start. I always suggest you really think about the mission you want portray. Remember, when playing with DC or Cimmerians it is mil-sim so you are become a "re-enactor" of sorts so feeling comfortable with your role on your team is all important. Can't really have your point man toting around a SVD. The AUG, while I am personally repulsed by its design, is a great gun to choose if you know for a fact sniper is out but still unsure if you want mid range or in your face combat.
Good point Phoenix. He normally plays a very mobile DM style roll, so i think the bullpup design of the AUG would be perfect. As for Spidedd I with you sometime at the end of last summer. I was recently up there playing with Boone and Mike Lyndon, over at Avery Clarks place. Ill talk to my friend and see if he likes the idea.
Oh ok. Yeah I was busy the day they did that game. I was very sad..ha I'll probably remember you when I see you (I have a very bad memory). And alright that sounds good. If you come up to another game at old airport we can just do the exchange there as well

Sounds good. If my friend isn't interested in buying it, then I will probably end up getting it. I just have to save up some cash.
Ha alright sounds good then
