BATTLEGROUND

Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

Hey i have been searching the forum and have found several good threads on sniping though i am still not sure what the official rules are for snipers at the Draex field. I am asking because i am considering buying the KJW M700 or upgrading my bar 10 and don't want the guns to be useless for playing at the field.

Hi there Tim, the rules for Draex field are posted here:

http://www.diamondcorps.com/rules.htm

Generally speaking, no airsoft rifle that fires at or over 400 fps with 0.25 gram bbs will be allowed to be used during games.

However, for operators who wish to fill the roll of a sniper, utilizing a single shot rifle which fires at or over 400 fps using 0.25 gram bbs, we generally require that the operator come talk to the martial on duty. The martial will talk to that operator. If that operator is known through experience on Draex field to be honorable and responsible, the martial will take their case and present it to the Diamond Corps team members. If they agree that the operator is honorable and responsible, they will generally agree to allow the use of the rifle on the field some stipulations.

For example:

100 foot minimum engagement distance

Single shot rifle only (bolt action/gas blowback/spring/etc... No AEGs nothing that fires automatic)

A secondary weapon is generally required for close range combat (ie shotgun, pistol, small AEG)

These are just examples, and there be more I am forgetting, or some that I am adding.

But that should give you a general idea of the rules. Of course, if your rifle does not fire 400 fps or over with 0.25 gram bbs, then you don't need to worry.

Ok thanks for the info.

No problem, always happy to help where I can. I am one of the marshals for Draex field. Ultimately Komissar has the final final say as it is his property.

House Rules for Draex Field:

No weapon may fire greater than 400 fps (feet per second) without approval.

Weapons will be chonoed using .25 gram ammo.

No AEG (Automatic Electric Gun) may fire an ammo grade higher than .25 grams.

Draex Field Sniper Definition:

On occasion, well established returning guests have been allowed to use bolt-action airsoft rifles having an fps limit and ammo weight which exceeds the standard House Rules for Draex Field. These operators have shown that they posses the control and ability to use the weapon in a safe manor. They have done this by repeatedly demonstrating control and honorable conduct at events held at this field and others. The minimum distance they are allowed to fire at another operator is 100 feet. They must carry a pistol which they may use if an enemy is under the minimum distance.

(Note: Although some have previously, currently no Diamond Corps operator carries a bolt-action rifle, and all Diamond Corps operators comply with the same House Rules for Draex Field.)

When attend an event at Draex Field, I will introduce you to the Diamond Corps operators. In this way you can meet them, and they can evaluate your integrity and control on the field. It is the operators on this team who have the final say as to which operators can use the bolt-action rifles which exceed the House Rules. They are a nice group of people, but they are also the ones who are going to be shot by you with that weapon.

Here are some of the forum discussions you have probably seen answering Q&A.

"I wanted know the bolt action sniper rifle limit of fps at Draex field."

"Our limits are 400 fps.

We have allowed a few returning operators to bring bolt-action rifles that fire more than 400 fps on the field.

These few have been out several times before, and we are familiar and comfortable with their control.

They are also required to carry a sidearm for engagements under 100 feet."

"Are bolt action rifles allowed to fire heavier grade bbs to shoot smewhere are 420."

"Yes they are allowed to fire heavier grade BB's at this field. Encouraged in fact. This can reduce them back to the 400 fps limit."

Let me know if this answers your questions. I hope to see you on the field!

Well spoke Edric, I think you type faster than I do.

Ok then. For now i will most likely stay with AEG's. Thanks a lot.

Sticking with AEGs is always a good plan. Some of us have the "project bolt actions" that are always being worked on or upgraded, but find that their use is situational at best.
