BATTLEGROUND

Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

I find that the more experienced operators enjoy OP's that have mission and objective related themes. However, there are times when I just want to "run and gun", and a simple Base Assault, or CTF game is fine.
I believe the less complex missions are also more popular with those who are first timers to Airsoft. Does this make them any less enjoyable for the veteran operators?

I really enjoyed the Operation Castle missions, as each scenario built upon the next.

I would also love to see games where communication is key.
I enjoy the basic missions and operations that we run. They are simple, easy to understand, but not always easy to complete. However, towards the end of the day I do enjoy the chaos of a base assault. It allows the players to fire off any ammo they had in reserve and just go and have fun. There is no winner or loser in base assault, just the recipients of bragging rights. The fun is to see how long can the defending team hold off the attackers and what crazy stories of lucky shots and good tactics that transpired during the assault. That's what I enjoy.
Both Game styles are good, but for different reasons.

Base Assault is a wonderful game for crazy excitement where players will get into very memorable experiences and stories will be made. Base Assault also has its downsides because the chances of getting shot at close range is very likely; however this may not be all bad because the “high stakes” definitely adds a spice to the game.

Scenario Games are good for the stories because it makes you feel like you are involved in something bigger than a game because depending on what happens in the first round the following rounds will be different. Scenario games also make teamwork more important because scoring kills on the opposing team is sort of a side note where as forcing them to move so an objective can be completed is far more important.
i like the card games the most. they seem to have the least amount of camping in them.
I agree with Edric, having devices for communication would add a great many options. I know that some people do have them, but there are many who do not. If there was a couple of missions that actually required a team of smaller numbers to have coms and another larger force that was more hap hazard. The goal would be to eliminate the opposing force but the com force would be able to work on tactics a lot better. You could also work on creating more games off of that, adding more goals and such.
