Thanks for coming out! It was great to finally meet you and your son. I hope next time to get to be on the field. 80 operators is far too many to have out here in my opinion. I prefer 16 on 16 or so with a great deal more fire and maneuver, flanking and some thought. We will not be posting many of our events publicly on the calender again, however we will continue to run events on the second Saturday of each month. Please keep in contact when you can, and I will keep you posted on what we have going on.
Hey Tom! Glad to hear ya have time for airsoft again.
We have to take advantage of the time when we get it.
There is lots going on out here, as I have been setting things up for more opportunities for events and new locations. Our BATTLEGROUND calender of events is not full because I have been working on getting a new locations for us to run events at. I had been having 60+ operators here at our 15 acre home field in Browns Valley, but this is far too many bodies for the the size. I prefer 12-16 per side at most to allow room to maneuver, otherwise it feels like a wall spraying BB's at each other.
On March 10th we will have our last 'public' Missions Day for a while. I hope you and your son can attend. In April, I am running an event in a new style using four man teams to perform Recon style tasks during mostly evening and night hours. I am putting a lot of work into this as I intend to run this annually.
I have just confirmed the use of 100 wooded acres of private property near Redding for perhaps 2-4 events later in this year. This would easily accommodate the 60+ operators we have regularly showing up, and would allow a quality, proper fire and maneuver event.
The Diamond Corps team has not been attending any Cimmerian events due to their rule changes, but you might like their events. Maybe not.
Also, David Allgood has been running fun small events near Star Bend. The location is good despite being public property, the operators are generally honorable about taking hits, and he makes very clever use of objectives to keep things from getting redundant.
I will look forward to meeting you if you can make it out in March.
Google map says your about 35 miles from the field. (My home) I drive to Lincoln in about 45 mins. We have guys on Diamond Corps from South Sacramento, to Truckee.
The next 'home' event we will have is on Sept.11th. It is not a full Mil-Sim style event, but it is open to guests and it would be a good opportunity for you to meet several of our operators. Between then and now many of us will be attending the Cimmerian OPs, which are very Mil-Sim but not very competitive. In Fairfield there is a team called SOCOM, but despite their website, and being good people, they have very little training.
I look forward to meeting you, and getting some time on the field!
