Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

I had a question for u bolt action rifle owners. I was wondering that if when u are zeroing in your scope that the bbs go to the same exact spot everytime or are they sometimes supposed to be off a little sometimes?

Couldn't say it any better than SCRAMBLE. He would know.

Your shots will deviate with influence from several factors:The weapon and how clean the internals are, the weather, the wind, the range, ammunition quality, weight and type, how you hold the weapon, how you squeeze the trigger, and even how you breathe when firing all contribute to accuracy. Your accuracy will improve when considering these things and practicing consistency. Go out and practice with someone who can teach you, and then practice as often as possible.

All projectiles travel in an ark. When zeroing a projectile weapon, the goal is to pick a foundation distance where the projectile and the sights line up (For most real steal weapons the distance is 100 yards). In combat situations a target is never at the optimum distance and adjustments must be made accordantly. In some optics there are mil-dots that are measured to equal the drop or rise of the projectile at estimated distances, for others math must be done to adjust for drop. In the Airsoft world I would recommend setting the hop of the weapon where you feel is most effective overall. EXAMPLE: I pick a distant object beyond the range of my weapon and shoot at it looking for as long of a strait flight as I can with a predictable drop at the end. Others like the little “hop” when the projectile begins to fall, I do not. Once this is set the optics can be adjusted to the flight path of the projectile.

To answer your question; Airsoft projectiles, at best, are inconsistent and thus any true precision cannot be achieved even with appropriate optics. This said, set your scope to the distance at which you engage targets most commonly and from there on just get to know the quirks of your weapon.
