Event Description

FREE opportunity to see this field!

Recently in e-mailing with a nearby field owner, he announced that they will be opening up a field for Airsoft operators in nearby Nicolaus. Satellite Photo
(35 minutes from our DRAEX field and 15 minutes from Yuba City / Marysville)

After a brief internet exchange, it sounded like this will be an opportunity to support a local provider who has expressed interest in doing things the right way.

The opening day for SHOOTERS is a FREE event!

What have you got to lose?

BB's must be bought at the field. NO Exceptions.
I have been assured they will be at reasonable cost.
Owners are following strict guidelines given by F&G who regulate the business licensing for commercial use.
I understand they will be BIOVAL TECHNOLOGIES, BIODEGRADABLE so at least they will be quality bios.
Cost yet unknown . . .
I will be buying a bag of their .25's!

Drinks and snacks will be available at the lodge at entry.

Porta-Johns are on site.

If your AEG goes down, or you want to introduce a friend, they have rental CA AEG's for $20.

The owner has invited me by to come out and preview the property before the 'opening' day, which will be held on the weekend of Sept 10th -12th.
I was thinking of bringing one or two with me for the visit, and to get an idea on how he intends to run things.
The 'Recon' day I intend to be there for his grand opening, and was hoping to bring at least a fire-team to represent the Corps.

no i dont mean like boats in the water but maybe one or more sides of the field brushes upon it or something like that. and unless the field was awesome and had tons of stuff to defend/attack, i am NOT paying 35 dollars for it. period.

Now, being close to a body of water that could be used would definitely be both reasons to get fish and game's approval AND be worth $35(min) to play on because there are no other fields I know of that have significant water sources. Every time I hear about an op with water, its kind of a one off event.

hahaha well it came out perfectly so time well spent in my mind!! could there possibly be a river running near there? or maybe its near a forebay? those were just my first thoughts on it. and maybe he is just trying to gauge peoples willingness to comply or just their reactions when he said $20 and you need to buy his BB's

No prob. Glad I could be your mouthpiece lol. I spent 5hrs at work thinking about this because, like Blazed pointed out and I started to earlier, why the fish and game approval?

I still kind of feel the same as Blazed. I'm getting the impression this might be a stab at making a commercial airsoft field. First they post a field fee, then lock out outside ammo. I can almost guarantee the food on site will be both not free and not a long term thing (either way it would be a losing investment).

Do we know if these gentlemen have ever visited or participated in a private event? I mean good ideas do need financial backing, and field fees are a good way to get that backing, but nickle and diming operators, to me is a "tourist trap" approach and unless its an amazing field with an amazing experience playing on it, what does it have to make anyone want to pay a minimum of $35 to keep going back? Tourist traps will lure people in, take their money and only care about that one visit because there are tons other people willing to visit. The airsoft community is not as big of a community and without a worthwhile draw it would sputter out.

But then again I could be skeptical a tad bit cynical thanks to more, i don't know how to explain it, justifiable(?) fees. Couple that with the freedom to use whatever ammo I wish (with the exception of Cimmerians, but they back it up with "we care about the environment", a noble reason).

I'm really interested in why the requirement to use the field's bb's, what are the details on those bb's, and what weight options are available.

Something like this should be an open house type of event. Invite only type of thing to certain teams and have it be a no cost venture. If need be, still require the purchase of the bb's at the field, but use it as a way to gauge interest in using the field. The more i read and think about this, this definately sounds like the owners won't be playing, just leasing the property.

$20!!!! damn he must have some real good ideas if I gotta by the bbs too. Food and drink are included or separate as well? I would say the fish and game story sounds a bit fishy but who knows? It would have to be a really good time to want to go back and it seems that if the people don't really know what they are doing it would be a waste of time, money and energy. If they want a lot of your input Kom I'd say you better start charging yourself!

so if we go to this field on any of these days, will we be playing? or is it just a walk around kind of thing?
