BATTLEGROUND

Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

I just put in a new type 0 cylinder for a 550mm barrel. (the gun was previously a G3 SAS so it only had a 108mm barrel.) The new cylinder is this one Cylinder from evike.com. I installed it (i had to grind a little off the end, but i cleaned that up afterwards) greased it up a little and took it out to test. It was having the same problem as the ported cylinder was, which there wasnt enough pressure behind it and the BB was dropping rapidly after shooting it. So any solutions would be welcomed! I would like to have the gun up and running by next missions day. Thanks

Here is a great site as to help...

Keep in mind that "I" have had little to do with the enternals of my own weapon(s)

Reason being - If it aint broke, don't monkey with it!

Sounds like you are having a compression problem...

Step 6 http://www.instructables.com/id/Airsoft-AEGs-and-upgrading-them/ste...

Quote : Compression
To improve compression you can:
Get an o-ring air nozzle
wrap your cylinder head with Teflon tape
stretch your piston head o-ring
Wrap your bucking in Teflon tape or "whip" it with floss.
Sand a fraction of a millimeter off the front of your tappet plate.
This will improve the efficiency of your system ( and therefore slightly improve muzzle velocity), and helps to make it more accurate.

Now I DO plan on cracking my own case open sometime in the future...but only when I have enough "off the shelf guns" will I invest in opening and modifying my own guns!

Thank you! I put some floss underneath the o-ring to expand it a little and now when I am testing it by hand (covering the nozzle and pushing the cylinder) I can hardly push the cylinder anywhere so now there is a great air seal! Thanks again!

If you follow those guides, keep a cool demeanor and make sure you have the right tools and parts for the job, going into your guns gear box isn't that bad. Thank Bob (my substitution for God), the Chinese started building these things and not a retired clock maker from the Swiss alps.

You can have too good of a seal which can actually slow down the travel of the piston. if you take the o-ring for the piston head and stretch it around the cylinder for a little while that should stretch it out enough to get it to seal properly. Make sure your tappet plate isnt bent out of the 90* position. I didnt look at the link so this may be covered in that. Just wanted to give some input.
Ok, cool! It is working well now, so I can finally use it at a missions day! Thanks!
