BATTLEGROUND

Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

I laid down a quick outline for Iron Spider 2, but it seems I'm missing something cause it doesn't sound as fun as Iron Spider 1. Anyone got any good ideas for an OP they want to share?

I believe that the US forces need some sort of Air support. Tank should bring his Jeep back providing the US forces with an attach helicopter they can call in. The Jeep will drive from the loading area down the road with two gunners (invincible) having at everything. After their "gun run" they drive back up the hill on the regular road and chill at the loading area for some designated time to "reload and refuel". This gives the US forces the ability to uproot embedded enemy.

So I think there should be not only air support, but a hostage. The US pararescue could be inserted to rescue hostage. Also, phoenix Im sorry I wasn't able to make it out to 1st iron spider. I had family issues, my little sis got sent to ther. But all is good now, so I can probably make it out to future events. I also have a full marine squad of five guys, to support the US forces, so hit me up with anything we can do for you.

Unrelated to this OP, but I might use some ideas for a possible "post-apocolyptic" themed OP. I love the post-apocolyptic genre.

@Spartan, I have something in mind similar. I can't give too much up on it but it would be similar to IS1's civilian encounter, it will force people to think differently how they work through the scenario.

YES...

Perhaps have a squad of Afghan National Army Commandos pinned down in a "village" by Mujahideen fighters, and have a squad of US Forces sent in to aid and join forces with them to complete further objectives.

Are you talking Fallout-esque style post-apocalyptic?

I think, perhaps, pie.

But seriously, I would like to see a larger "civilian" contingent.

i like that ive been playing around with the idea of a zombie op as well but i don't think that it would be that good on the field

i do like the idea of air support as well

@ Carl: I love nearly all post-apocalyptic, especially the Fall Out series. If I did one in that genre, it might be a general post-apocalyptic theme, something that wouldn't require people who aren't fans of the genre to get without a long back story. Also: I like the captured team idea.

@Tank: bring your jeep and we'll rock the air support. I have another idea for your jeep as well.

If only we had some way of taking alll my broken down car shells that look like they have been blown sky hgih and burnede form my back field and lugging them into Dreax to use as props. I loved Fall out, but Metro 2033 was my favorite. Anyway yeah, I don't know how you would do a zombie kinda thing at Draex.... I like the stranded team idea, but I would rather see, a VIP assasination by a sniper team as well. We should do Army Sappers, Marine Recon/Scout Snipers, and Pararescue.
i also agree with the larger civie contingent. if you look at operation irene 4 or 5 i believe there is an "insurgent group" that if one team shoots a civie they will go after that team if both teams shoot civies then they will go after both teams. of if they destroy a holly place or whatever objective is theirs they turn on that team if no civies shot they are just bystanders. they just mingle around. but on op irene there are soooo many different civie missions one is hire a suicide bomber with money you have to obtain on field. feeding a mother's baby tooo helping a civie hospital transport out of combat area with strechers or assisted walking needing lots o' players (easy to make). also making re-enacter grenades live but put a limit on  them and if need be who can use them and where they can be used and just like cimmerians explode on contact with ground. i really liked the point system too that was fun.

The reason Irene runs so well is because of its size and organization. Besides its realism, it also allows squads to have assigned postion and matching modern loadouts. When someone goes to a large scale event like this, how often do you see aguy runnning in a mismatche dcamo uniform and MP40.  I think we should have several "factions". Suggestion:

US special forces. (Marine, Airforce, Army)

OPFOR: (I think we should use China, Russia or some other ORGANIZED military)

Mercenary group: (The remaining guys with the tshirts and jeans)

Civilian:... maybe we could use Edric or protect Chris's son? JK... but does anyone want to be a civilian? No. This makes problems.
