BATTLEGROUND

Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

Hey, I'm a new member here. I haven't played airsoft in years, but I might have to come down to the field one of these days.

Anyway, I'm a film maker, and I will be in need of a group of airsofters to act as a realistic SAS extraction team.

If anyone can help me out (either by acting, or by advising me on tactics, equipment, or putting me in contact with people who would be interested) that would be great.

There is no set shoot date as of right now... I'm just starting the process of gathering resources.

I am located in Grass Valley. We would most likely be shooting there.

Thanks.

what type of sas are you looking for like 80's sas in the black jump suits of a modern sas?
Modern. I think. I'm assuming the gear would depend on the location, right? Black jumpsuits and shooting silenced MP5s from the hip ala "Navy Seals" (the 1990 Charlie Sheen movie) is not what I'm looking for.

In fact, the first scene I will be shooting will just be a test. There won't be much story or any conclusion. It will be a proof of concept vignette. I am open to changing the SAS to another country's Special Forces. (Although, I would like to stay away from the U.S.).

The Scene: A guy in a business suit, holding a briefcase, is waiting for some sort of meet. He's nervous. Suddenly a RPG takes out the car next to him. Tear gas mortars detonate in the air above him. He is suddenly in the middle of a full-blown ambush. The SAS team sweeps in from the tree line, with the goal of getting the business man (or his briefcase) out, intact. Meanwhile unseen snipers or other enemies do their best to make the mission... difficult.

Thats what I need to shoot. Or some variation of it. I might cut out the unseen enemies, and have the SAS be the ones ambushing. I'll figure that out later.

In any case, I need to know what to do on the military side of things. I want this to be very realistic.
sounds awesome are you thinkin about shooting this on a road next to a tree line or grassy field and having the "business guy" standing next to a car. cus if you do the grassy field you could have a team pop out of the grass and do it that way i like your idea it is very good i would be down to help you in the shooting of this i would suggest that the SAS wear facepaint and have boonies on from what ive seen special forces units usually wear boonies (unless its desert then probably wearing shemaghs) in an op not helmets. i also like the ambushing idea where the sas is ambushing the guy have you ever seen james bond golden eye right at the end with the marines style ambush thats what i see when you are describing an ambush also a person to talk to about military stuff is Furge he is in the airforce if thats waht you are looking for as well i would be happy to help you with your film
i have had a few friends in the seals and a few marine recon groups so if you are looking for weapons in the squad itself they (the US special forces that i know) usually carry some sort of SAW sometimes two and also a sort of sniper platform such as a M14 then the others would carry m4's (this loadout is for jungle, forest, desert, missions and such when working around water like the charlie sheen thing you were talking about they would normally all use mp5's) there would also be another with an underbarrel grenade launcher. they might carry mp5's depending on the mission with the m4's but usually they would try to stick with the same ammo without the entire squad. also the sniper platform would normally have a spotter unlike the all the other movies that you see with the "lone snipers" i will do some research to see if other countries have different load outs in weapons
Thanks a lot for the info. What kind of clothing would they wear? I'm visualizing some lighter colored woodsy camo with maybe some light green in it. And gas masks. They definitely need gas masks. hahah. What would a Russian team wear/use?
hmm they would usually have the standard russian cammo looks like flectarn but a wee bit different and the stripped shirts and also use ak's with the folding stocks and they would use gray gas masks you could find a few at swensons surplus in grass valley most of the airsofters i know have M4s and i just found a great sight for sas and a few other special forces http://www.sasspecialairservice.com/ most special forces these days especially canadian sas and us special forces would wear woodland german would wear flectarn and french have their own type of woodland cammo
This sounds awesome, I have no military background, but I am in for however I can help.
That sounds fun! If I can help, count me in!
Tank when i heard about the grass ambush all i could think of was this scene. The people just pop out of the grass like nothing it's probably the coolest scene in that movie.

This is still happening... just not right away. I will definitely keep everyone posted.
OK, guys. The movie is happening... but it's going to be a bit different.

I need 4-6 special ops lookin' dudes for a night scene involving lots of shooting, a hummer, and pneumatic explosions. It should be a lot of fun.

I also really need a few crappy aegs. The scene calls for lots of shooting, and I hate the look of fake (digitally added) gunfire. My plan is to blow corn starch out the barrel, so that we get a visible puff of "smoke." Throw a silencer on there, and add the sound effects in post. Ta-dah! Anyway, I'm doing a test on crappy UTG mp5 parts gun, but I'd like to get some AKs or M4s. Anyone have any donor guns? I can buy them, but I don't have much money to spend.

Also, I need to film a firefight. It needs to be crazy, and it needs to be filmed with cameras attached to the guns. Maybe I could show up to the next game and work something out...?

What's in it for you? Well, food. Yes, there will be free food. Also, you get to shoot out the window of a moving hummer and get shot in the back of the head (with blood effects, maybe). Plus you get a copy of the film once it's done. Basically, come hang out. It'll be fun.

The date is dependent on when I can get ahold of the hummer, but figure on sometime in the next two months.

Feel free to post back, or give me a call on my cell (530) 559-8270. Thanks everyone.
Oh! ALSO! I need to borrow a sniper rifle of some sort. I'd prefer an SR-25, but any badass looking rifle will do. It will not be fired, and I can offer collateral for the full price of the gun or have the owner present during shooting, etc...

PLEASE! If anyone has one, or knows of anyone on here with a rifle like that, PM me or call me. Thanks.
