AUGUST 19th-20th 2011 Cimmerian OP: MAIDENSTEEL

Operation Briefing: (Last update 7.26.2011)

The LRA has been engaged in an armed rebellion against the Ugandan government in what is now one of Africa's longest-running conflicts. The U.S. has invested to secure its interests in the surrounding area. This OP will now send a U.S. Special Operations Force to recover those investments in Ugandan contested territory. The LRA will continue to commit atrocities so long as these rebels remain able to focus their efforts by profiting from the use of captured technology. The U.S. will need to work with the Ugandan Army to secure future cooperation, and assist those forces in stopping the LRA from the targeting of local populations. Given the monitoring and electronic communications tracking capacities, the U.S. forces can directly assist in locating the captured equipment and summarily render it useless to the enemy.  The United States has an investment in the Ugandan military and has their own services based nearby.

Forces and Uniforms:

US SOF (United States Special Operations Forces 1^st /10^th) “De oppresso liber” SITE

US SOF will wear ACUs including cover or beret.

 

LRA Guerrillas (Lords Resistance Army under LRA Deputy Commander Raska Lukwiya) SITE

LRA will wear Woodland BDUs or ODs and please include a Shemagh.

 

OPCOM: Ugandan Army as needed for scenario.

Ugandan Army - Woodland BDUs including beret.

 

 

AO: Cisco Grove Area.

 

Loadout: Military Vehicles may be used for the portions of this OP.  Make your kit for fast movement and high action.  Do not weigh yourself down with redundant gear.

 

Camping: There will be camping on Friday, August 19th and it will include a night OP which will detail information for the Saturday Operations. Not required, but it will be a good time!
