I first off would recommend Classic Army over A&K; CA is a known and trusted brand that is easy to find replacement parts and accessories. The $280 tag of A&K is very appealing, but I fear that you will find yourself left with stripped gears and blown pistons that will quickly make up the price gap.
If the SAW is the path you wish I would recommend the the Mark I or Mark II over the Para model for the ease of carrying the 14.5lbs. If you get a support weapon you will be put in the support position requiring cover fire and suppression which consumes a good deal of ammo so be prepared to spend a bit in that department.
Speak with Komissar about being a support gunner, he runs with the SAW249 Para model.
Like I said in the post about what is a good AEG to buy, I will pose the following questions:
Are you ready to be the rear guy? I mean you are not gonna be moving around as much as a rifleman, are you cool with that?
Second: is this a mission you really want to portray? All airsoft guns are investments but i always advise being fully aware of what you want to do one the field before investing in the weapon. Hell I'd love to get a mini-gun but...
From what I saw the only time we shared the field, I trust you know the answers to the questions and if you decide yes you do want a SAW, go with the MK1. The PARA, in airsoft, would just be a super fancy M16...in my opinion.
you could also get an AK (whatever brand you choose) and get a 5000 round drum mag for it. I have that mag for mine and i love it because i am not stuck playing one role the entire day as i can switch to my normal mags. and you dont have to deal with the 14.5 pounds that scramble was talking about. just thought id put in my 2 cents.
For a SAW I would go with Classic Army. (as per SCRAMBLE)
Here are some possibilities:
Lots of weight (15+lbs loaded).
Limited versatility and customization.
High ammo expenditure as stated above.(if used as proper team support; acts as very heavy, slow M4 otherwise)
Every shot is full auto burst. (you decide if this is a plus or minus)
Great physiological effect on opposing team.
Rule of thumb is 3 to 5 round bursts.

If you want to run and gun enemy, this is not the gun for you.
Not enough time to answer all your questions, but I hope this gets you started.
