When panting your AEG I recommend that you use spray paint and remove the furniture (stock, hand-guards) and paint those separably instead of attempting any taping job. I think it is best to leave the body of the rifle flat black for aesthetics and to keep the decals. Some awesome paint jobs have been done by Furge and Dwarf so if you can get a hold of them they may have useful advice.

Krylon Camo

I have only really added camo to my shotgun. Woodland of course, and I went only so far as to use 3 colors of spray paint to get the effect I wanted. Black, Tan, and Olive Drab Green, sprayed across the weapon to match the effect you find on your Woodland camo. Give light coats, keeping the spray can at least a foot away from the weapon to resist runs.

Agreeably, Ferge and Dwarf are better at it than I am. Practice on something before you paint the item you care about.

Tape over any area that would not work well if it got painted. Cover the end of the inner barrel! Get no paint in the workings of the AEG. Let it dry thoroughly before removing the tape or adding a second color. Look at true life examples for ideas.
