I dont know how this scenario would work out on the field, but Ive been toying around with the idea of a three way scenario
1. The drug lord + security force; kinda obvious, protect drug lord
2. Mercinary assasination team; small team, kill drug lord
3. Police force (military, MP, whatever you want to call it); tries too 1, arrest Drug Lord, 2. kill all or assassination team
the only uniformed operators would be the Police force, they would be trying to distinguish between who's who, you could add in civilians, the Police force would of course be the largest, and the assasin team the smallest, let me know if you have any comments/questions/ideas
Sounds good in theory, but how would operators tell their own teammates from the enemy on the field? Perhaps a 3-way scenario is possible, but any OP needs some way of differentiating teams, other than "He ain't one of us!"
I have to admit though, trying to tell good guys from bad guys is a crucial element in modern terrorism and drug wars. How's this for an idea:Perhaps an enemy "agent", is masquerading as one of several civilians, but his identity and whereabouts could be revealed by documents captured from the enemy base. When his identity is "burned" he must escape with the help of his comrades before he is apprehended and interrogated by the authorities. In this scenario, good communication and memory skills are a must... Red wins if their agent goes undetected for a set time period. Blue wins if they capture the agent. And perhaps "Green Team"- the civilians who are blending with the agent- could have an objective of some kind too...
hm, I was thinking the security teams and the assasination teams would each be small enough to be able to recognize eachother, but I do like the idea of having some kind of intel... maybe the civilians could have it, unless the security force/assasination force took them hostage (the assasins would need intel on who was the Drug Lord as well)
Although on second thought, an urban envirment would be more suitable for this, much harder and Im pretty sure at DRAEX it would just turn into a 3 way brawl and maybe the DL/security team would have to make a weapons deal of some type, and the assasination team would have a set space/time that their exfil chopper will be there, so they have to get out afterwards, not to make it too complicated, but if anybody can make this happen it would be you guys and btw, my thought process is almost entirely centered on how it would work at DRAEX, considering I don't know of any other possible fields (excluding airsoft battlgrounds in Rocklin), on that note, I'm guessing security team would set up in the Silo, the assassin team most likely in one of the reds(?), and the Police force coming down the road.
The 3 way brawl can be controlled with good OpCom and planning of each engagement, a scripted op as it were. And we have done those before as well. Steelstorm is a good example of having a 3 team game.
Keep the ideas flowing guys and hopefully gals!
I personally think that the whole "friend or foe?" issue could make for some exciting scenarios. Maybe ACU/Digicam vs. woodland, with shemaughs, armed civilians, and/or contractors caught in the middle, supporting one side or the other as the scenario dictates. I dunno. In a three-way OP, where's the third team's base/respawn?
Brenten: As for your "assassin squad", I think it's a good scenario element. Moving one or more operators through enemy controlled territory, to kill an assigned target or person, is a real challenge, especially if the numbers are asymmetrical or the enemy team's communications are at all organized. However, as in zombie games, everyone wants to be a shooter. Nobody wants to be a civilian, or a hostage, or cannon fodder. That needs to be a prime consideration in any Draex op.
I won't be able to come to the game in November, so what are we planning for December, when I will be able to come? Who's picking the scenario for that game?
Is anyone else interested in the "hidden agent" game I detailed in my previous post?
So, to summarize what everyone has said so far:
