I now have experience the Tornado grenade. Today I purchased one of these at AEX coming to a total charge of $108.29. Before I parted with any money I asked them to be sure it worked so one of the associates gassed it up for me and set it off without BBs to prove it worked; I was not terribly impressed but Komissar had been raving about them for some time so I took a leap of faith. I drove to FlapJack’s house for a test fire; we loaded it up with 180 .25 BBs and what was left in the bottom of a GreenGas can. We walked out into his front yard; I pulled the pin, and threw it. FlapJack and I dove behind the car to await the blast. We waited for longer than I though was necessary when we heard a feeble “pop”. We peeked over the top to see what looked like a puddle of BB vomit in the grass; how disappointing. I packed it up and we went about our day. Later than day I was in my room when my brother asked what it was and I explained that it was an Airsoft Grenade but it was not very exiting. He asked for a demonstration so I gassed it up and since there where still a good deal of BBs left inside from FlapJack’s yard I did not bother to load it again. I pulled the pin and set it on my desk then turned back around to my computer. My brother waited anxiously for the exiting explosion while hiding behind my door, but nothing happened. Just as I started to say “see nothing to get excited about” the thing exploded. The sound was similar to a chainsaw in a bucket of marbles. Instantly my room was full of screaming BBs bouncing of everything, knocking things off my shelves as the grenade itself zinged around my room. For those of you who know me you can guess the effect this had on me, for those of you who do not think drywall repair. In conclusion the new Tornado Grenade is extremely effective and I see it as a very valuable asset to my Airsoft game.
LMAO, Kattiana and I were on the floor after reading this. Currently I am on my way to your house with the mud and tape. I am glad your disappointment was not the cost of my fervent opinions. I will look forward to seeing you employ the new piece of equipment at future OPs. By the way, do you think the uninspiring effects of the first demo were due to old or low Gas?

Thanks for the laugh, and for being the first to try something new.

In my opinion the poor performance of the first firing was due to the low pressure of the gas can seeing as it was far from new.
Now Seth,

the clerk at AEX did tell you that the new generation tornado grenades come equipped with an "irony chip" right?
Medic now has a Tornado grenade, and brought it to our last missions OP. No opportunity for a kill yet with it, but he did demo it in the target area (by request). Just as Scramble said, "it is effective"! Kills at 20-25 feet, and next to you it feels the same as 300 fps on full auto!
With the recent improvements on two of the bases, I believe it wont be long before we hear from some poor unfortunate.
NEW UPDATE: I have been filling my Tornado Grenade with Green Gas (CH2, FCF3, CH3) and during the game have carried it in my drop pouch. The last two games this has triggered the "Relief Valve" rendering the grenade useless. I understand that when cooked Green Gas will expand and eventually explode (especially when in a car, a .50cal ammo box, or a backpack) but I felt that its sensitivity to heat inside of a drop pouch was unnecessary. Mine is not the only case of unexpected "relief"; Psycho Medic's grenade also felt inclined to relive its self during the last op (08-09-09). After the Grenade has released the gas the valve is easily reset with the use of some pliers so there is no permanent damage but one will need to step out of the game to accomplish this. I do not feel this is a serious issue with the Grenade being more of an inconvenience than a real problem. Komissar has recommended the use of some sort of cold pack to keep it cool during games which we have yet to test.
So you were able to get the seal back in place w/o replacement parts? seeing yours and psymeds both fail on sunday sort of put me off the grenades, but if they can be fixed between battles that wouldn't be too bad.
