Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

Here are the updated rules. I decided to use the same format as last year for the challenges however I did add in some safety rules/penalties so practice your safety up until then. Thanks!

 

Equipment:

All operators must have proper eye protection to use during their challenges. Normal playing eyewear or shooting glasses will be accepted.

Operators will need to have a pistol capable of firing on semi-auto.

Operators will need to have a belt or leg holster for the pistol used in competition.

Any weight ammunition is allowed.

Optical scopes and open sights are allowed. Lasers which project an image on the target are not allowed.

All pistols and holsters will be approved by competition marshals.

 

Targets:

Each operator will complete three ‘Courses of Fire’ consisting of four targets each, to achieve the fastest time.

All targets will be eight inches in diameter, and at a range of thirty feet.

Operators will be allowed to run each Course of Fire twice with the faster of the two runs being recorded toward their total time.

Any time greater than 10 seconds on a course will result in 10 seconds as a default time.

Any course that an operator fails to complete will be given 10 seconds as a default time.

Any player displaying unsafe use of the pistol or not properly holstering/clearing a pistol will be given a 10 second penalty for that attempt.

At the end of all three courses, each operator’s best course time will be tallied and divided by three to give that operator Time Final.

Penalties:

Penalties will be given to operators displaying unsafe handling or misuse of their pistol. All penalties will be given during your turn at each event from the moment you are called to start and step into the box.

Unsafe use/handling: Strafing other players, not properly holstering or clearing the pistol before leaving challenge area, pointing in an unsafe direction or shooting in a direction not designated for the challenge you are on will be given an automatic 10 second penalty for that turn. If you still have a second attempt you can try again safely to get a better time without penalty or take your first attempts time if completed successfully.

 

Courses of Fire:

 

“The Drop”

Operator will start with pistol holstered, and in the start box. (10 feet lateral to drop container, and 10 feet from the line).

At “go”, operator moves to drop ‘grenade’ into container. (The grenade MUST stay in the container).

Operator may then draw pistol.

Operator must hit all four targets and call “clear”.

Pistol must be holstered or cleared with magazine removed and slide locked back before leaving challenge area.

At call of “clear” the time is stopped and recorded.

Any deviation, safety violation or failure to complete the course will result in a default time of 10 seconds.

 

 

“Combat”

Operator will start with pistol holstered, and behind the line. (10 feet from the line).

At “go”, the operator may choose to move to the line.

The operator MUST drop to a knee, and then may draw his pistol. (Any draw of the pistol before the knee hits the ground will count as a default resulting in a 10 second course time).

Operator must hit all four targets and call “clear”.

Pistol must be holstered or cleared with magazine removed and slide locked back before leaving challenge area.

At call of “clear” the time is stopped and recorded.

Any deviation, safety violation or failure to complete the course will result in a default time of 10 seconds.

 

 

“Stick-up”

Operator will start with pistol holstered, and behind the line.

Operator will start facing directly away from the target with hands held above the shoulders.

At “go”, the operator may then draw his pistol and turn.

Operator must hit all four targets and call “clear”.

Pistol must be holstered or cleared with magazine removed and slide locked back before leaving challenge area.

At call of “clear” the time is stopped and recorded.

Any deviation, safety violation or failure to complete the course will result in a default time of 10 seconds.

Each operator’s best time at each course will be added together for their Total Time. The Total Time will be divided by three to get the operators Time Final.

 

“Breaker”

This course will ONLY be used if there is a tie for the Time Final.

Operator will start with pistol holstered, and behind the line.

At “go”, the operator may then draw his pistol and fire.

Operator must hit all four targets and call “clear”.

Pistol must be holstered or cleared with magazine removed and slide locked back before leaving challenge area.

At call of “clear” the time is stopped and recorded.

Any deviation, safety violation or failure to complete the course will result in a default time of 10 seconds.

The fastest actual time in this course will be used to determine the winner.

 

 

Example: Ryan runs “The Drop” course receiving scores of 6.38 seconds and 6.72 seconds. Ryan’s fastest time in both runs is 6.38 seconds at “The Drop” course, so the 6.38 time is recorded for the Total Time. At the “Combat” course he receives a default score of 10 seconds for drawing his pistol before his knee touches the ground. At his second attempt, he again pulls his pistol before his knee touches down earning him another 10 second default, this time the default is recorded as his fastest time at the “Combat” course. Moving on to “Stick-up”, he achieves a time of 3.62 seconds on his first run, and then his pistol explodes causing him a default time of 10 seconds for his second attempt. The 3.62 second time is recorded. This gives Ryan the total of, 6.38 plus 10 second default, plus 3.62 added together for his Time Final. (6.38+10.0+3.62=17.3 seconds is Ryan’s Total Time). Ryan’s Total Time is divided by three to get his Time Final. (17.3 divided by 3 = 5.76 as his Time Final).

Sounds an awful lot like Scramble's run last year. Minus the exploding gun. LOL
