OP: DRAGON ROUGE

The Story:
By August 1964 Congolese government forces, with the help of mercenaries, were making headway against the Simba rebellion. Fearing defeat, the rebels started taking hostages of the local population. Several hundred hostages were taken to a hotel and placed under guard.
The Congolese government turned to Belgium and the United States for help. In response, the Belgian army sent a task force which was airlifted by the United States Air Force. Allies worked on a rescue plan. Several ideas were considered and discarded, while attempts at negotiating failed.

On 24 November 1964, five US Air Force C-130 transports dropped 350 Belgian paratroopers. Once the paratroopers had secured an airfield they made their way to the hotel, and prevented Simbas from killing all but 80 of the hostages. It took until the end of the year to completely put down the remaining areas of rebellion.

Operations will include:
- Parachute deployment and grouping
- Attack and Defend
- Hunter-seeker/Evasion
- Armored HMMWV Engagements
- High-intensity LZ extractions

Uniform Loadout: NO digital camo.
Belgain Paras: 3 Color Sandies, OD's,

Congolese Simba: Tigerstripes, Woodland, DPM etc.

Military uniforms are required for the whole OP both on and off the field of battle. We encourage operators to dress the role, but of course any military uniform is allowed. If you have "both" bring both, we may need you to adjust force levels otherwise arm bands will be available to designate forces if required.

ALL modern weapons accepted. We strive to re-enact the battle more than to be strict with gear.
However those with "correct" weapons for the Operational Scenario get a big attaboy!

Belgain Paras: FN-FAL, H&K G3 (all variants)

Congolese Simba: AK-47 (all variants), Stg-44

Airsoft guns will not chronograph greater than 395 fps (feet per second) with .20g BBs (or 350 fps with .25g BBs) ANY READING OF 400 fps OR HIGHER WITH A 0.20g BB WILL IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFY THE GUN!

As always, all operators must use 100% Biodegradable BBs in either 0.2g or 0.25g. NO OTHER BB IS PERMITTED due to environmental impact issues. Operators who are discovered using any other type of BB will be immediately ejected from the AO and will not be invited to participate in future operations.

Biodegradable BBs in 0.2g and 0.25g weights, every effort is made to make them available for sale at the AO for $15 per bag.
