FAQs.

Q: When will the missions be posted?
A: All participants will receive a Mission Packet upon arrival, which includes maps, Zones, and Objectives.

Q: Where's the AO?
A: The AO is in the El Dorado National Forest. The closest landmarks are Union Valley and Ice House Reservoirs. It is located between Reno NV and Sacramento CA, just west of South Lake Tahoe. Exact coordinates will only be give to registered participants.

Q: How can I get a map of the area?
A: The AO is National Forest. Topographic maps are available from the Park Service. The closest landmarks are Union Valley and Ice House Reservoirs.

Q: Why aren't exact coordinates publicized?
A: Only registered RT and HK will receive coordinates at D -2. This stops day-players from showing up expecting a pick-up game, and keeps the Competition honest so everyone participating has equal footing in the AO.

Q: How large are the Teams?
A: All teams will be made up of six participants.

Q: What if I don't have six people?
A: Register individually. You'll be assigned to a team.

Q: Can I register my whole squad?
A: YES. This is encouraged.

Q: What kind of distance are covering from start to end?
A: The AO is 1,000+ acres and is divided into 6 Recon Zones

Q: How are we going to operate across that distance?
A: Each Zone has a different Objective. Every RT must find and report all six Objectives by moving in and out of each Zone. Each RT shall begin the Challenge in a different Zone. Each Zone will contain two HK teams.

Q: If my team is full can I go with another?
A: Yes. There is an opportunity for RT and HK to add participants before the competition begins.

Q: What if someone from my Recon Team doesn't show up?
A: In the event a participant is a "no-show" the RT may choose to add a member from available single participants, or proceed with the Challenge with the lesser amount in their squad.

Q: Can I register my 4-man Recon Team?
A: Yes. If you have less than 6 on your team, you may register. However, your RT will be responsible for the additional non-filled RT slots. For example: if you have a team of 4, your team will be required to pay the outstanding 2-slots in fees.

Q: Can I use Night Vision, Ghillie Suits, etc.?
A: There is no uniform/dress restriction. Wear/carry what you want to get the mission accomplished.

Q: Is GPS allowed?
A: GPS is not permitted for RT's. Reconners need to find Objectives the "old fashioned" way, using map and compass. That's the main point of the competition. HK may use GPS.

Q: How are SALUTE's delivered?
A: By radio to Base.

Q: Do we need to use bio-degradable bbs or are normal allowed?
A: Bio BB's only. This is National Forest, the use of Bios will be strictly enforced. Bios will be available for sale at the Challenge for those who need them.

Q: Are gas snipers allowed w/ external air rig?
A: Any rifle is allowed. However for "hot" guns the participant must demonstrate that they understand the engagement distance and carry a back up (non hot) gun. For example: a GBB sidearm.

Q: Prizes?
A: Prizes are given to both the highest scoring HK and RT. There is no second place.

FPS/Engagement Distance Standards:

AEG'S (Airsoft Electric Gun) are required to chronograph NO FASTER than 400 fps with .20 gram bb's.
(MINIMUM Engagement 20-feet)
Semi auto/ Bolt action Sniper rifles are required to chronograph NO FASTER than 600 fps with .20 gram bb's.
(MINIMUM Engagement 50-feet)

For ease of use, Recon Team and Hunter Killer will be abbreviated as such: RT or HK. Additionally the gender term "men" means to include female participants.

Q: Where can I get a Waiver?
A: DOWNLOAD THE WAIVER Those without a completed waiver will be turned away.

Q: How do I register?
A: To register for the Challenge, first DOWNLOAD THE WAIVER , then submit your team information (RT/HK) and use the paypal button on http://www.mycorps.us/event.html

Please list the names of those for whom the payment is for. If the payment is for a team, include your team handle and your patrol order.

Q: Refunds?
A: 50% refunds are granted on a case-by-case basis for proven emergencies only. Examples: hospitalization, death in the family, etc. Changing your mind is not an emergency.
