BATTLEGROUND

Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

No big deal, just a thought, but for some reason I can't seem to get the idea of dual wielding smgs out of my head... not that I need any more toys. However, had a look at some scorpion aegs on a few sites an they seem to be cheap and evil both of witch apeal to me. Open to thoughts / sugestions.

dual wielding is for video games. I can dual wield my UMP and P90 and it just doesn't work. My dominant hand was always ready and willing to fire but my recessive hand was content just holding the other gun like a coward lol. Its also cumbersome.

However, lets focus on the main question: what SMG? The Skorpion is a neat little gun, but it maybe my red white and blue upbringing, but I'm not a huge fan of Soviet styled guns. I'm not saying they're ugly (thats the Styr AUG for me), I just know other guns I'd buy first. I like my UMP, but it could just be mine in particular. For having a 3" barrel it's silly accurate. It has the collapsible stock so you can really set your aim or you can breach Red-2 and keep it tucked in tight. Another favorite of mine will draw grumbles, but I like the Glock 18. Its not practical in an airsoft setting, but if you're just looking for an SMG to add to a kit, its a good little "I'm in trouble" gun. My all time favorite SMG and i think Komissar will agree is the MP-5 and for me its the MP-5K.

With the exception of the UMP (and again, maybe its just mine) and assuming you select the MP-5K, the other three I mentioned can all be dual wielded if you so wish. If you're looking to build a mission kit, another great idea is the P90. its ugly as hell (ergonomics aren't for looks, see the Styr AUG) but if you look at mine, all I did was add a 2½ inch silencer and I was able to put in a carbine length barrel. All the looks of the love child of an SMG and an assault rifle (the real steel fires a supersized pistol round; 5.7x28mm. The M16 fires 5.56x45mm) with the accuracy of a M4 Carbine.

Best SMG: a KWA MP7. It beautiful, you can put a scope on it, it has good kick, high ROF and its reasonably priced. Also looks great with a silencer. If your looking for an AEP, the TM SMGs are great. But KWA makes the best. I agree with pheonix on the dual wielding.

to think I forgot about this: http://kwausa.com/products/smg/kriss-vector/

Interesting food for thought, I understand the complications of dual wielding (remember your talking to a guy who will sometimes use a double barrel in one hand and a pump utg in the other) but I'm willing to work with it. just not sure on the load out...  I know I'm being a bit silly, but I think I might be able to get it to work. Gonna look in to the MP7, I know alot of people like the P90 but I'm just not in to it sorry guys just not my thing. Still pondering the sanity of this idea, we'll see...

It depends on whether you want to do something as crazy a dual-wielding miniature rifles (SMGs), or you want to stick to machine pistols. Glock 18, Brutger-Thornet MP9, and Ingram MAC-11 are all small enough to be fired one-handed, like a pistol. You lose lots of accuracy, range, and stability, but you gain a certain cool factor, and additional capability to suppress and intimidate an inexperienced foe. All are or will be available from KWA.

If you absolutely, positively have to dual-wield, perhaps a pair of semi-auto handguns will suit you better. I recommend the ATP (Glock) or another pistol with 20+ round magazine capacity. You won't burn through ammo quite as fast, and the big magazine capacity will help compensate for the difficulty of reloading with your hands full. The inherently better accuracy of a semi-auto over a full-auto will help compensate for the imprecision that comes with dual-wielding, while still retaining a good deal of firepower. Holsters are easier to come by, and the form factor of the guns is smaller, making carrying both of them into battle a feasible possibility.

If a sub-machine gun, practically a miniaturized rifle, really IS what you want, then I suggest either the KRISS Vector, MP5, P90, or UMP. Just don't bother dual-wielding one.

However, if you are willing to wait awhile, Magpul PTS is developing the PDR- a bullpup sub-machine gun that accepts M4 magazines. In real steel the weapon would fire 5.56 NATO rounds from a 10-inch barrel. It's an interesting concept for a compact personal weapon, and you wouldn't have to spend the extra money on gas or magazines, just use your existing M4/M16 equipment.

Alright, I swore I wouldn't respond to this. (Damn you Gilbert).

What Phoenix wrote is the truth. One hand will fire, and if you have any focus it will be the one potentially hitting the target while the other hand simply wastes ammo for the benefit of suppressing the grossly unskilled. Only a true Airsoft hero would even think of attempting this. (I still can't believe I am responding to this). Expect to be shot down for your efforts.

If you are still thinking this plausible, then go with the MP5 or MP5-K. They are light enough to carry in one hand. No scopes, no rails, no barrel extensions or anything else to weigh them down. You are not going for accuracy, you are trying to put out more ammo than any human can reasonably afford. hang them each on bungee single point slings to give your some aim assistance by pushing them rather than pulling. (Not that it will matter).

The only investment is to get for each is a Matrix 2500 round Electric Auto Winding Drum Magazine. Don't mess with anything that has less than a auto drum mag. Too much time reloading. HERE

Let me know where you buy your ammo before doing this so I can invest in stock.

Wrong Mags, but they are the real deal!

I have dual-wielded KWA Mac-11s on occasion and, as Komissar and Pheonix said, it doesn't do much other than intimidate noobs. However, I highly recommend any of KWA's gas SMGs (M11, MP9, MP7)- they are high-powered, high-ROF, reliable and gas efficient.

I personally love my SMG's. I have a TM Uzi and upgraded TM MP7. Though my MP7 is being worked on at the moment. The more unique AEG SMGs such as TM's Mp7, Scorpion, M11, Uzi are hard to find also finding parts to fix it are a pain. The GBB SMG's have higher FPS and Kwa makes good quality guns and easy to get parts. The main thing you want to figure out is if you want an AEG or GBB,  unique or common, and a higher end brand or the gun will just be for show. I personnally want to get the Kriss some day. My MP7 is up for sale if you want to buy it from me, PM if you want to more details.

Thanks all for the input, even though I know it may seem silly, I just think I could find an angle on how to work it with the proper load out. Either I'll get it to work, or I'll look realy cool as I die an epic death. (Jon Wu eat your heart out)

At any rate see you guys at Iorn spider2

If you're set on doing it, try to get something with a good center balance like an M11 or an Uzi. You may want to try doing a slanted stance with your off-shoulder and weapon back, using your off-hand for suppressing fire and aiming with your good hand. I think an MP5k would be a little harder to aim one-handed. And I agree with Kommisar, the slings will help a lot with aiming and reloading.
