Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

Airsoft is under attack. Help stop e-bill sb798

Airsoft community, it appears that the sport of Airstoft is under fire from well intentioned but miss-informed Senator Kevin deLeon.

http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/11-12/bill/sen/sb_0751-0800/sb_798_cf...

The proposal is to turn our beloved airsoft guns into neon effigies of the real thing.  The reasoning is that a police officer would not have shot and killed a holder of a Airsoft rifle had this "toy" been brightly painted.  A tragedy one could all agree but the notion that the blame should be placed on said 'toy' appearance rather than user error and officer misjudgment.

A argument could be said that what is to stop a gunman from disguising  their firearm to replicate a neon pellet gun?

Should a officer hesitate because said firearm is pink rather than gun metal?

The first response would be to sprout off profanities at such a notion.

It is unfortunate that Senator Kevin deLeon should use his time to argue the case of 'what ifs'.  A better use of his time and tax payer dollars would be to look for solutions of immigration, education, and how about the budget (and lack of one on time!).  I await the day we all must wear bubble wrap.  Or perhaps they over look overeating because of the notion, "Weebles Wobble but they don't fall down" and get hurt.

The proper response would be to write your congressman, yea they might do nothing considering they are extremely efficient at waste.  But never the less I would urge you to act.

I would never paint my gun(s) to comply with some law that makes no sense.  If fact, If I had to buy a neon gun I'd paint it Camo!

If this Law passes it does not say anything about playing Airsoft.  Last I checked Komisar's and Kat's field is private property so they can get as hill-billy as they like!   Geeet off my land! Or by tar-nation I'll shoot ya wit my squirrel rifle!

Besides, we can always run and gun in Nevada!

This same exact thing happened a couple of years ago, when a teen pointed a cap-gun at an officer and was fired upon. The police have the right to open fire when threatened. All airsofters should not have to be punished, just because one idiot was doing something stupid.

These are ANTI-GUN lobbyists who will begin with taking away your right to own anything THEY think you shouldn't have. Stupid people usually have short lifespans, which has nothing to do with the responsible remainder of society. If you have a keyboard, let your voice be heard! Send the message!

For the record the kid refused to surrender and then pointed the gun at the officer. regardless of whether it was brightly colored, that is still something the officer may have shot at anyways in the dark. Politicians are such idiots sometimes...this is ridiculous
