so far ive got 3 more VC positions open and 3 NVA positions open 2 1st air cav and 4 marine positions open

great post thank you komissar. great pics too and for the rule on the guns it doesn't have to be period guns if you don't have one but if you do have the appropriate gun it would be great and add to the realism of the op
Here is some typical US style uniform styles for the VN era.
This style of gear is easy to find, and typically cheap in comparison with modern style BDUs.
Don't be afraid to get the stuff dirty! Unless you want to look like a REMF.
Although not required, an M14, M16, M16A1, or XM177E (as well as many of their carbine variants and with short mags or long mags) and be historically accurate for nearly any Vietnam time period. For pre 1970's you could even run with an M1 Carbine, Thompson, or M3 Greasegun - all valid alternatives to the early M16s which were met with constant failures due to improper ammunition, non-chromed bore, and lack of cleaning kits.

where can you get plain black and white shemagh? I just saw ones with skulls on them
yes any gun is acceptable without accessories optics vertical grips only iron sights unless bolt action sniper rifle and that would look great
