Not sure about traffic... Should I go up late Friday night, or early Saturday am (meaning 4am)?
Also, I plan to bivouac up there Saturday, and leave in the morning to be back in SF by 11am.

I'm assuming Diamond Corps will be in Woodland camo, right?
There is a camo 'sign-up' on their forum now:

some of the rules for the pistol challenge are as follows...

:there will be 3 stations. each station has different barriers you must ether shoot around, over, or through.

:every marksman will be in the sitting position before the start of the round
When the signal is given, the marksman will get up grab his/her gun off a table, insert the magazine and then move to the designated shooting zone to knock down all the targets. once all targets have been knocked down the marks man will then retreat from the area through a designated finish line to stop the automated clock.

:the equipment we are using is time equipment used for sporting events and the marksman must cross a inferred line to stop the electronic clock.

:every marksman will have a set number of bbs inside there magazine at the start of the round. if the marksman uses all his/her bbs before knocking down the target, every target still standing will be penalized by adding seconds to the slowest time of the day in that round. (if the slowest time for the day, for station one is 1min 4sec and you missed 3 targets we would add 20sec a target. your time for station one would be 2min 4sec.)

:there are 3 station that all marksman must complete. at the end of all 3 stations the marksman's times will be added up, and the lowest time for the day will win.

:there is no fps limit on pistol (although i dont think many shoot over 420fps, if so i want one)
:a pistol may be shared with other marksman as long as both have payed an entrance fee.

: GUN MALFUNCTIONS ARE MARKSMAN RESPONSIBILITY. IF YOUR GUN BREAKS IN THE MIDDLE OF A ROUND...TO BAD YOU WILL RECEIVE A TIME OF 99min. IF YOUR GUN MALFUNCTIONS BEFORE THE START OF YOUR ROUND, WE WILL GIVE YOU 10min TO FIX THE PROBLEM, OR GET A NEW GUN.

:YES multiple guns may be used for the 3 rounds but only 1 gun is allowed in a round.

if you have any other questions please post them and i will try to address them.

hope to see you all out there.

I read a bit on their truckeeairsoft site, and talked to a couple at the Mission Day. Sounds good.

I wonder, what would the outcome be if I used my rifle (no scope) in the pistol challenge? More accurate but slower is my guess.

Intel from the Truckee Airsoft Board as of 0900 hrs on Wednesday, August 12.

"We will be CAMPING on the mountain labor day weekend. The cost for camping is $15. since we are on privet property it is $10 a head for insurance and $5 for a port-a-podi. at the moment only 2 RV's are schedule to drive up. I you plan on bringing a RV please let me know, space is limited and we may not be able to allow you to drive up. we will be playing 1hr long games with scenarios, they will be posted soon.(if you have suggestions please comment). Official Rules will be posted soon. (everybody should know the basic rules already)"

"The Pistol Challenge will be held on Sunday Sept-6th. We will start the challenge around 10:00am. The cost to enter is $10 which goes towards the purchase of the first place prize. ONLY AIRSOFT GUNS ALLOWED NO BB GUNS. It will be a timed event through 3 stations, the marksman with the lowest time will win. There are no age groups or gender groups.
EVERYBODY AGAINST EVERYBODY.

We are Getting a gun to give away for first place and other prizes for the runners up.
There will be a limit of the amount of bbs allowed in your magazine while you shoot.
The marksman will start in a designated area when he/she hears the buzzer, they will stand up and move to a table that has there weapon available and preloaded.
the Marksman will then proceed to shoot down the targets in his/her designated area. once the targets are all shot down the marksman will then run/walk/sprint through a finish timing wand. The timing equipment used is very accurate.
There will be three stations that a marksman must complete. Once all three Stations have been successfully completed the times will be added up and the lowest time will win."

The Corps will have operators attending on Saturday, although it is likely they will not camp unless there is a night OP included. I will keep this updated of further posts.
