I (due to a lack of funds) do not have an aeg anymore. I DO, however, have a KJW MKI (gas non blowback rifle). I checked the rules on the main page, which says that no aeg may fire over 400 fps (I don't think the KJW does) and may not use over .25 gram bb's. Currently the hop up is set for .30 gram bb's, and I was wondering if that would still be allowed since it's not an AEG. If not I can try to set the hop up lower, but I've played with .30's for so long I'm kinda use to it. Any reply will be appreciated.

I had read that already. My gun does not shoot over 400 with .25's, but I suppose a better way to ask this question would be if I could use above .25's so long as I crono'd below 400 with .25's.

If the "weapon" would chrono at greater than 400 fps using .25 gram BB's then it will not be allowed on the field.

My car can move slower than 400 fps, but due to the mass it would do a great deal more damage than a .25 gram BB.
Hence it is the equation that insures the operator's safety. (E=MC2)
To increase either mass or speed will increase the force thereby increasing the risk of injury.

If you simply want to use a heavier gram BB after you chrono with .25 gram BB's then have at it.
The same does not work in reverse however, again due to the fact that at close range the lighter gram BB's have greater velocity than the heavier ones propelled by the same "weapon".
