BATTLEGROUND

Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

How about the Corps team going to something like "The NAM", "LION CLAW", or even just "CQB City"?

What do you guys say to trying to go to one of the big (expensive) games say in fall? We tried to do this for "The NAM" last year and it fell through. We need people to commit to the time and dollar expense of such trip. Also there are uniform and equipment requirements which I think our team has no problem meeting. If anyone has an idea on when or which one post it here and we'll get some input.

I seriously like the idea of going to CQB City. I am also a go with attending the NAM or other game but the long distance and high price tag sort of dilute my excitement; but if a group is going I will tag along.
lion claw seems to be more organized and more fun in general. Lots of good feed back and videos from those games. I also think the turnout will be a lot higher at the lion claw game because it is run by a much bigger company. More players often times means a whole lot more bang for you buck. If we are going to spend a weekend and lots of dough on an away game lets go all out and hit up the biggest and the best one. I don' t have a problem paying a big price tag as long as a good group is going along to enjoy the experience. The experience of spending a weekend playing airsoft with your buddies is worth the money.
The NAM is run by Combat Enterprises, is held usually in late spring, early summer, costs around $100, and is a 2-3 day camping event. I believe their location is about two hours drive for most of us. It appears to host around 60-100 players, and is uniform, and mission related.

LIONS CLAW (8?) is the nations largest Airsoft hosting group. Word is that their next Operation might be in Northern California. Still might be a couple of hours drive for most of us. (unknown so far) These events host over 200 players, are uniform required, and mission related. Their site does not show the date this might happen, but I will try to keep you posted. The cost runs at over $100 per operator.

Lastly, is CQB CITY, located about two hours south of us near Modesto. They run CQB/Mout (urban assault style combat games) inside a huge warehouse (70000 sq ft). Inside the warehouse are plywood "houses", cars, and hay bails to use as cover. The uniforms are not required, but I'm sure we would go in team uniform "woodland". This business runs events each weekend and will add you to a team that includes other public players. No need to wait for a set date. The charge for the day is $35. The floors are concrete and were reported to be covered in BB's. (skate on marbles). Again the operations are reported o be mission related.

I will try to add links to these sites so we can make a more informed decision.
CQB City sounds like it would be great fun! NAM sounds like it is a bit too pricey. Same with LIONS CLAW. With gas, BBs, and then $100 on top of it all...
I have just spoke with Worm, and he says NAM 5 was really great last year. He informed me that Pat is running the VC forces this year. Worm and Pat shoot for the VC side. I am thinking this could be more promise of a good time.
Here is the NAM 5 site address http://www.combatenterprises.com/nam5/index.html
I agree with Flapjack on this one, Lionclaw seems to have the organization and numbers to make an awesome weekend, actually I believe that Combat enterprises runs them both. Anyways I don't see why we couldn't make one of the larger games and still pay a visit to CQB city,
i know a few of my guys including myself that would be interested in doing lion claw the NAM or CQB city for sure
Well troops,

LIONS CLAW 8 (LC8) was held in Southern California on Memorial Day weekend May 22nd. It had good reviews including the special operations. Lots of walking on Saturday and loads of shooting on Sunday.
There's always next year!

NAM 8 was held in San Jose (probably Modesto) on May 31-June 1. It has received very poor reviews. Paintball type environment, where black pajama clad "players" run around firing CA249 Para's, with box mags using spray and pray tactics.
There's always next year.

Let's see, . . . so we're left with,
CQB City. The next OP is on Saturday June 25th, and the cost is $30 per operator. I will list more dates on my next post.
This place has not received great reviews either. The best rating I have found for them is 4 out of 5, and that one is on their own site. Do some research and let me know what you think. At least they don't require Bios!

Report has it that the NCA will be hosting an event at Draex field on Sunday, June 19th or 26th. They are looking for an opposing team with around 15 operators. Hmm. Know anyone? I'll keep you posted here and on the EVENT tab.
I want to go somewhere with lots of buildings like the operation irene zussman city that would be insane.
agreed that would be fun or something with vehicles like the last cimmerian op we did
