I had a thought last night as I commented on a reply to the Effective Tactics post. I commented on how things worked and didn't work at the Night Op and realized: a good training tool used by our real-steel counterparts is the After Action Report.
Now I know most of us are military buffs but if there's anyone out there that doesn't know, the AAR is a detailed debrief of an event. In the AAR everything that went right, as well as everything that went wrong, detailed so that in future similar events, those same things that went right can be repeated and those things that went wrong can be avoided.
I asked Komissar to create a new category on the forum for this so that each event can have an initial AAR created by a participant and have it so the rest of us can add to and discuss. This will create a record of the event so that if we approach a similar event we, in other posts, can back reference the previous event's AAR for review before we deploy. A form of continual training to better improve tactics that almost worked, or ditch tactics that completely failed.
Post your thoughts here.
