Event Description

SNIPER COMPETITION: LINK HERE

This Missions Day event is open to new and veteran operators.

Field Donation is $10.

Missions:

You will want to show up by 0800 for check-in and chrono.

We will begin the Mission and Safety Briefing at 0900 hrs and end at 1600 hrs.

The standard missions include: Sniper, Demo, Radio, Mortar Demo, Recon, and Patrol.

New missions are added periodically.

Weapons and Ammo:

ALL operators AEG's will be required to meet the House Rule requirements as follows:

Weapons will chrono under 400fps with .25 gram BB's.

No AEG may fire greater than 400 fps.

No AEG may fire an ammo grade higher than .25 grams without approval.

Gas rifles and bolt-action weapons must meet the same requirements.

Eye Protection:

Sealed eye protection must be worn while on the field. Marshals can choose not to allow an operator on the field if they regard the operator’s eye protection to be unsafe.

Uniforms:

It is unlikely that operators can be split into teams using uniform color. Operators may wear any uniform of their choosing, HOWEVER: Operators must bring a SHEMAGH or BOONIE hat for team designation. Dress your group in the same way if you intend to run as a team.

We find it easier to divide teams using their headwear which is often the first target visible.

Each operator must bring a SHEMAGH, or a boonie hat, patrol cap, or other COVER for team designation. If you have both, please bring them both so we can balance the teams more easily.

Read our House Rules.

Bring your food for the day. Well water is provided.
Power, Water, and Restrooms are on site.

However the shot gun and pistol seem to be a stretch. Even carbines with ramped up fps seem to also be a stretch. Personally I would like to see all long guns represented here. Actual Sniper rifles vary in shape and size and firing modes.

I like this option Jensen I an yes by all means semi only ( I have never heard of a machine gun sniper) @ Michael nothing personal but I have my own weapons system that I would want to use. I am not familiar with yours and don not feel that a "on the fly" tutorial would benefit me.

I should not comment as I will not be attending; however, the idea of a sniper competition seems to beg the bolt action. Yes, I understand that there are many semi-auto sniper's rifles in use in the real world but when one thinks of "sniper" they think of that SINGLE perfect shot.

Another option if you allow DMR's or AEG's is to just limit the amount of usable shots they are allowed to have in the gun(10-15 shots plus the 4-5 that are usually not able to feed into the hop up) then the only major advantage is that they have semi auto.

I'm for keeping it to bolt action rifles, that just seems to be in the spirit of the competition... As I understand it only one operator at a time will be going through the course, right? I'm planning on sharing my rifle with some of the guys riding with me who don't have bolts, and anyone else (StierCo, Zach) is welcome to use my rifle if they need something to compete with.

On the other side, Clay says he is hoping to compete with a scoped revolver...

Operator WARNING: As you well know our events are held in the woodlands where there are natural dangers. I have killed seven rattlesnakes in the last week. Arrive with the understanding that you must be extra carefull and take precaution.
In addition the temperature is expected to be at near 110 degrees. Be prepared.

Bolt-Action Rifle Operators: Would any of you have a problem opening the competition to other types of AEGs? Should they be restricted to semi-auto only? What about the option of using a pistol or shotgun in the competition?
I had planned this event for bolt-action rifles, but in the spirit and goal of keeping this fun, I am interested to hear your suggestions on making this a fun competition. Post your response here or send it to me privately.

Going to have to work that morning to cover for Jeff. Hopefully next time I will have a gun built to compete in it with.
