High caps or mids?

What do you guys use out there on a regular basis?

for standard Diamond Corps events:

For Cimmerians Events:

I switch between but am wondering what i should send out with my gear...

i am leaning towards 5 highcaps (1500rnds) as opposed to 12 mids (1440rnds) as it will allow me to add more utility pouches to my load out for food, and other items but i wanted to know what was the standard?

I usually prefer mids as it adds to the reality of the situation when in a fire fight and due to my sustainability paranoia i am usually loaded for bear...lol

when i rock the RPK though i am loaded with 12 high caps and a heck of alot of ammo...

for my trip i am going M16 though so i just wanted to ask for some opinions...

i prefer mid caps due to the fact that i am already loud enough moving through the bush i don't need 4 marrackas giving my position away. also you do not need to wind them

Diamond Corps events with lots of shooting, . . . 4 hi-caps. Short walk to reload and time for breaks.
Several others go with 6-8 mids.

Cimmerian OPs: Lots of time on maneuvers, less shooting. Could get away with 2 hi-caps, but I still carry 4.
(Still needed to reload those in some situations)

Yeah i understand the SAW mentality...
I wish i could bring out the RPK she is my Custom Queen Frankenstein with the ability to shoot solid 300 round bursts of pure terror...
Slow enough of a rate of fire that you hear the shots coming but very effective psychologically and as covering fire.
Tried the drum mag once and was not impressed by the additional ammo capacity as for the lack of having to reload in combat. so i use 6 (250rnd) high caps and 6 (600rnd) high caps.
But now that i am running something other than support i was rolling with 12 mids and going through all... as i have beein trying to get out of the support gunner mentality...lol
I will bring 5 highcaps and i should be good

I run with 6 highcap mags (1800rnd) because of the before mentioned paranoia; but I never use more than one in any single evolution at a Diamond Event and usually never change mags at a Cimmerians Event.

I am like tank, I prefer mids just because they are quiet.
