BATTLEGROUND

Airsoft in the YubaCity / Marysville area.

I laid down a quick outline for Iron Spider 2, but it seems I'm missing something cause it doesn't sound as fun as Iron Spider 1. Anyone got any good ideas for an OP they want to share?

im liking these new ideas and very good summary
Maybe evening ops on a full moon?
Night game would be a fun one to do. I know Bill and I have wanted to do another since the Steel Storm Night OP
Night games sound great, but I couldn't come because of the driving distance from Lincoln. Are there any alternate locations where we could play that are more centrally located?
I imagine if it was a night game there would be some sort our camping arrangements set up for participants.
Camping, huh? Sounds interesting... Maybe a night raid on an enemy encampment... I imagine that camping out would take a bit more preparation than your average OP. I think I personally would need several months advance notice of a campout OP. I'd need time to dig up all my old Boy Scout gear...
I hadn't considered a camp-out.   I was thinking maybe a 1400-2000 or something along those lines...just to go into the evening.

Hmmm. I dunno. Maybe during the summer months, when the evenings are cooler, and it's light out later. I think Komissar will have to make the call on this one, since the field is at his house...

If we're ever going to do a Zombie scenario, which I think is kinda crazy to start with, we should do it at night to give Zed half a chance of succeeding. Otherwise, it won't be any fun for the zombies.

Night OP's are always an option here. I have run several OPs which were kicked off with an at dark mission, or stand alone night scenario. Smaller forces, semi-auto fire, and experienced operators are my suggestions to this type of planning.

If OPCOM does their job properly there is a good deal of stealthy maneuver to accomplish non-engagement type objectives, and perhaps the opportunity for a small skirmish.

Run improperly; operators are laying in wait for hours while nothing ever happens. Or, . . .  the team's own point-man is relentlessly unloaded upon during a frenzied torrent of full-auto, released into the darkness in front of them. Either of these leaves a considerable impression on the operators. It can be done, . . . but it takes balance by the OPCOM.

Camping is also an option. Nothing like telling stories of battle around the campfire, and then a nice hot mug of coffee in the mornin'.

I made some changes too the scenario, theres only one "civilian", and hes playing an information/weapons dealer, the assasination (renames spetznatz forces) team is trying to kill him, he only has a pistol, for political reasons the US/UN forces are'nt allowed to fire upon the spetznatz unless fired upon, OR they negotiate for information regarding their illegal involvement from the informant (reason spetznatz is trying to kill him first), this gives the spetznatz team a headstart time advantage, as well as making the informant a tolerable, if not desireable position

A night OP is sounding more and more attractive. Campfire? War stories? Music to my ears! I wonder where to get some MREs to add to the immersion experience...

You can get MREs from an online retailer or some military surplus stores, though I would actually suggest online as they have better selections and prices.
