Briefing: Circa 1995 - Covert Recovery of a ECHELON satellite re-entry vehicle. US and EU special OPs try not to clash in this modern covert mission.

The Cimmerians want to invite all honorable warriors to gear up and get ready for the next Cimmerian operation: TANK WALL.

Operational plans are set for a one-day operation in the high Sierras. Radio Direction Finding will be used to track downed satellite material. This is going to be a black op MILSIM combat operation highlighting elements of an elite National Security Agency sanctioned deep-cover paramilitary unit (Shadow). Against a highly secret EU paramilitary organization (Europa). The OP will be divided into 4 evolutions with a combat chow break mid-day in the field. Make sure you carry food and water as we will not be returning to vehicles for chow.

SCENARIO:
In a joint venture code-named Project Echelon, the major Western governments are working together to spy on each others citizens and trade the data with other countries in the project. It is illegal for any of these countries to wiretap and use other means of electronic espionage against their own citizens without a warrant, but countries can spy on the citizens of other countries with no such legal restrictions.
But sometimes those cooperative allies were also targets. In mid-June, a special investigative committee reported to the European Parliament that Echelon was fact, not fiction. The conclusion came after a study was undertaken to review allegations that Echelon was intercepting private and commercial communications, mainly via satellite, for American industrial espionage purposes. The committee could not substantiate that the United States was utilizing Echelon to the disadvantage of European businesses. Nonetheless, steps were taken by the European Union to block the intrusive nature of Echelon.
Under concurrent global political conditions the appearance of discord among the western powers is unacceptable to all concerned. But the conflict exists. Within the European Union a highly secret paramilitary organization (Europa) has been tasked to locate and capture solid evidence of the Echelon misuse. In a recent satellite mishap, an Echelon Satellite Downlink Unit (SDU) crashed in the forests of northern Alberta, Canada. The Data-cores of the crashed device (SDU) contained the evidence Europa was seeking . The SDU debris has been localized but many pieces of the SDU area scattered over a 2 square mile debris field. The US government's 153_special_strike_force [Shadow] has been put on full alert and must retrieve this SDU before the Europa team can reach it and expose the sensitive data contained inside.
Condition at the crash site were mountainous, rugged forest. Frequent snow storms hamper efforts to locate the SDU. Ground teams have been inserted by both sides to locate and recover the SDU, and transport them to an LZ. Both teams operate with orders to eliminate any opposition with extreme prejudice.

Operations Include:
- Covert airborne insertion.
- Silent patrol (hand signals).
- Multiple objectives.
- SDU hardware recovery.
- Multiple extraction points.

Military Vehicles may be used for the completion of this OP. Make your kit for fast movement and high action. Do not weigh yourself down with redundant gear.

Further info is now available for our February Op. Update on top secret images and intel involving the secret Echelon program. These images you see are for operational planning only. Do not share this information with any sources outside the organization.

This is a photo of a first-generation SDU that was recovered in 1994. Current generation SDUs are similar in appearance.

This photograph was taken by one of our undercover agents 28 days before the latest Echelon satellite was launched.

The SDUs in the bay on the satellite appear to be of a new design, but these may be dummies and may have been replaced before the launch with live SDUs with a different appearance.

from the Space Shuttle Columbia OV-102 on mission STS-109 from which the Echelon satellite.

Sorry about my my posting confusion, and I had not been on the Cimmerian site which they updated on Jan 1st, 2011.

You are correct on both accounts.

1st - Is it will be near Alta located off Hwy 80. (12 miles above Colfax) (45 minutes south of Truckee)

2nd - Cimmerians have now made an allowance for operators age 15 and up.

Effecitve Jan 1, 2011, the Cimmerians have made accomodations to allow for the participation of minors age 15 or older. If you are a current member of the Cimmerian Airsoft Association, you may bring with you a minor age 15 or older with an appropriate waiver filled out by the parent or guardian. If you are a Player in Good Standing (PLIG having operated with the Cimmerians prior), you may bring with you a minor age 16 or older (Cimmerian membership has its privileges). Anyone who brings along and is responsible for a minor must have them attached to you at all times. They do everything you do, and go everywhere you go, absolutely without exception. If a minor is found to be outside of the guardians control, this will be considered a rules violation and be eligible for removal from the operation.

I agree, I would be willing to take Wilkes. He has demonstrated mature behavior and the ability to work with the team. Likewise, Maverick has been waiting nearly a year for his birthday in April when he will turn 18, so he can attend. I would be willing to have either of these young men join our team when we attend the Cimmerian OPs. This might just be the opportunity, considering parental consent, and procedure.

Comment by Joe Laderoute on February 13, 2011 at 7:12am: So chris i remember you saying yesterday that its been moved to the Alta area which is off of I-80 by blue canyon right? or is there another Alta off of Hwy 50 im confused, on another note you might want to look into the cimmerians rules. it seems they have slightly changed to age limit just recently and if you have an established cimmerian operator as your mentor/sponsor 15 years old and up can play, im suggesting wilkes as a canidate for this new rule.
